Growing up as a missionary kid in Mexico and Spain, Katie knew from the age of five that she wanted her life to be about reaching lost people for Jesus. In college, she had the opportunity to share the Gospel with a Muslim Moroccan woman in Spain and this experience changed her life. Her first step towards this journey was to move to Jakarta, Indonesia, a country with the largest Muslim population in the world. She served for eight years as the Community Development Coordinator and then Missions Pastor for IES Jakarta. While in Indonesia, she had the opportunity to develop a health education program in two slum communities, oversee sixteen community partners, and engage approximately 500 volunteers a year in outreach projects. In 2021, God began to give her a renewed passion to reach Muslim Moroccan immigrants. Shortly thereafter, the doors started opening for me to transition to Europe and use the community development principles she learned to build an Oasis Center in Barcelona, Spain.
