STEP 1

(Effective September 20, 2020)

We are excited to provide in-person services. We have prayerfully and carefully prepared our Coming Back Together Plan. We will continue to regularly evaluate and update the plan as needed.

 

What to Expect

All of our staff and volunteers will be wearing appropriate PPE, as recommended by our state officials. Masks or face coverings will be required while in the building for all staff, volunteers and guests. Guests with vulnerable immune symptoms are encouraged to continue watching our services online.

Online service will continue to stream online via YouTube and Facebook.

 

Sunday Services

Service Time

Sundays at 10:30 AM 

 

Sunday School

Online Sunday School is available via Zoom. Please check your weekly church email for access.

In-person Sunday School will be held at 9:00 AM in Reeves Hall. Masks are required at all times. Tables and chairs are appropriately distanced.

 

Check-In

Check-in will be available at door #4 from the back parking lot or door #2 which will provide handicap accessibility. Please maintain six (6) feet distance between you and the guests before and behind you at all times. Each guest will have their temperature taken with a touch-less thermometer and a health screening questionnaire. Parents will complete a health screening form for each child that attends.

If you answer “yes” to questions 1 – 4, below, please stay home and enjoy our online services until you have been symptom free for 48 hours. If you answered yes, to question 5, please stay home and enjoy our online service until you have been symptom and contact free for 14 days.

    1. Have you had a fever in the last 48 hours?
    2. Have you experienced a persistent cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat?
    3. Have you had a new loss of taste or smell?
    4. Have you had vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours?
    5. Has you or anyone in your household tested positive to a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 or had contact with anyone know to have a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19?

Inside the Building

Our volunteers and social distancing stickers along the hallway walls will help manage the flow of traffic. Please maintain six (6) feet distance between you and the guests before and behind you at all times. Hand sanitizing stations will be available in high traffic areas.

Once in the Sanctuary, your family unit will sit together and be appropriately spaced from others. You will notice some pews have been marked off and the open pews will be marked with blue stickers marking every 6′ to help insure appropriate distancing.

Restrooms and Water Fountains

Restrooms will be available for emergency use only. Bathrooms will be cleaned after each use and will require a 5 minute wait time until the next use. Hands free door openers have been placed on the Men’s and Women’s bathrooms on the main level. All other bathrooms will have a trash can placed near the door to discard your paper towel after opening the door.

Water Fountains will not be accessible.

Offering

Offering plates will made available on the platform. They will not be passed through the pews. Online offering is available at 1stassembly.org/online-giving.

Exiting

At the end of service, you will receive exiting instructions for managing traffic flow.

 

Children and Youth Services

Nursery (newborn – kindergarten)

Will be available for staff and volunteers only for in-person services on the lower level in the Nursery wing. Online services will continue to be available via YouTube (link) and Facebook (link).  Each child will have their temperature taken with a touch-less thermometer and parents will complete a health screening form for each child that attends.

Snacks will not be provided. Single use cups of water will be available.

Children (1st – 5th grade)

Will join their family in the Sanctuary for in-person services. Online services will continue to be available via YouTube and Facebook.

Youth (6th – 12th grade)

Will join their family in the Sanctuary.

 

Online Opportunities

Live Streaming Service

Service will be available online via YouTube and Facebook every Sunday at 10:30 AM.

Wednesday Word

Message will be available online via YouTube and Facebook every Wednesday at 7:00 PM.

Connection Groups

Connection Groups will continue to meet via Zoom or other online services. Click here for a current list of online groups.

Common Grounds Café will be postponed.

Bulletins will not be passed out. To stay informed, please:

Wedding and funerals for members of First Assembly will be permitted with 75 or less guests.

Office staff will continue teleworking from home.
